This page shows a review and analysis of engine hours for the Class 60 fleet
during the first 8 months of 2010.
Due
the the availability of
TOPS engine
hours lists the actual period under review is the 113 days between 26/08/2010 -
16/12/2010.
Thanks are due to Ken Short for posting the lists on
60-Gen.

Notes.
Operational status, and thus operational days are determined as the locomotive
being allocated to active pools WCAN, WCAI, WCAK, WCAM, WCBI, WCBK, WCBN,
locomotives in the WFMU maintenance pool are also classified as being
operational.
Stored Locomotives are determined as those being allocated to the storage pools
WNTR and WNTS. However some locomotives have in this period accrued hours whilst
being operated in stored pools or in shunter pools, usually this is when a
locomotive is stored and remains in service working for a short period until it
returns to its allocated storage location or in some cases whilst operating as a
"Super-Shunter" at a yard. It is recommended that figures are reviewed alongside
the storage history if it is suspected this is the case.
60024 shows as being operational for 38 days though it spent the majority of
this time as the Toton/Sandiacre trip engine / super shunter.
Occasionally it is noted that locomotives, sometimes long stored locos will
accrue 1-5 hours in storage, it is not known why this occurs and it is unlikely
to indicate serviceability.
